Project Office

Project Office at Calar Alto Observatory

The Project Office at Calar Alto Observatory has been established to provide dedicated coordination and management of the observatory's instrumental projects. As the complexity and scope of these projects increase, the office ensures that all phases—from planning and proposal submission to execution and final reporting—are handled efficiently and meet the highest standards.

A key focus of the office is overseeing major initiatives, such as the instrumental development for CAHA's telescopes, which play a vital role in advancing the scientific capabilities of Calar Alto. Furthermore, the office is responsible for all activities related to securing and managing project funding. As funding processes become more rigorous, the office ensures that proposals are submitted accurately, funds are properly allocated and tracked, and all projects are justified according to the applicable regulations.

Additionally, the Project Office coordinates activities with external partners, ensuring smooth collaboration between Calar Alto and its external stakeholders, including research institutions and other collaborators working on large-scale projects. This reinforcement significantly strengthens the observatory’s capacity to meet both scientific and operational challenges, helping to maintain its role as a leading research facility.

The Project Office is also the main point of contact for handling administrative tasks associated with these projects, ensuring compliance, and providing support at all levels of project implementation.
