CAHA-Panoramica 

Calar Alto observatory is a Spanish Singular Scientific and Technological Infraestructure (ICTS) located at Sierra de los Filabres, in Almería, Spain.

There are four telescopes of 3.5m, 2.2m, 1.23m and 0,8m mirror diameter, with a varied range of instruments. For the two larger telescopes (3.5m and 2.2m) Open Observing Time is offered through a biannual Call for Proposals. Director Discretionary Time is also available for short term observing programs.

Observing Time can be purchased at the 1.23m and Schmidt(0.8m) telescopes through an operations agreement with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Calar Alto also offers the service of mirror coating up to 3.5m diameter.

Visiting astronomers will find at the observatory continuous sky quality monitors, lodging facilities and the required astronomical support for the optimal use of the telescopes.
