Just an hour and a half later, at 21h31 of the same August 3rd, another Perseid iluminated the skies again.
This time, SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), El Arenosillo (Huelva) and Seville operated, registered this fireball.
Again two of the Calar Alto Observatory external webcams recorded a nice videos of this event.
At present, the only data gathered from this object is that it is a Perseid, with an estimated speed of about 210.000 km/h.
Below are the Calar Alto external surveillance webcams.
Calar Alto (CAHA) fireball detection station, together with the one at the Observatory of Sierra Nevada (IAA-CSIC) and others placed at different locations in Spain, are part of the S.M.A.R.T. project led by Professor José María Madiedo (IAA) to track that kind of objects. Specifically, Calar Alto (CAHA) station and the one at Sierra Nevada (IAA-CSIC) constitute a collaboration agreement between the IAA researcher José María Madiedo and both institutions.
